The dendroid graptolite Ophigraptus
hercyniae
Jaeger has a roughly bilaterally
symmetrical, frond-shaped linear rhabdosome
with a rounded-zigzag to meandring main
stipe, and alternating typically regularly
arranged side-branches with one to three
dichotomies.

Distribution:
Lower/Middle Devonian boundary in Harz,
Germany.
