Graptolite family: RETEOGRAPTIDAE Mu, 1974

Diagnosis: Biserial axonophoran with periderm reticulate; clathria developed; structure of lists regular,
without reticulumn and lacinia; thecal periderm normal.
Distribution: Asia, Europe, Oceania, North America; uppermost Lower Ordovician to Upper Ordovician.
Genera:
I. First group: Virgula extending freely into clathria, but not connected with lists; both median strands
zigzag in appearance.
Reteograptus Hall, Pararetiograptus Mu, Pseudoreteograptus Mu, Orthoretiograptus MU
II. Second group: Virgula merging with one of the median strands to form a straight virgular strand; hence
the presence of two median strands, with one curved and the other straight.
Orthoretiolites Whittington, Sinoretiograptus Mu.
