"The graptolite specimens described in the present paper were collected from the upper part of the Longmendong Formation
(Middle Ordovician) at Longlian and the middle part of the Taoqupo Formation (Middle and Upper Ordovician). at Yaoxian,
Shaanxi. Among them, 6 new species of
Medusaegraptus namely . M. hispidus, M. setaceus, M. pavonicus, M. floralis, M.
divaricatus and M.? plumosus were found in association with Orthograptus longithecalis Mu et Zhang, O. pauperatus
Lapworth,
O. calcaratus Lapworth, Diplograptus cf. vespertinus Ruedemann and Dicellograptus forchammeni Geinitz etc.,
forming an assemblage which belongs to the
Climacograptus geniculatus zone or Orthograptus longithecalis zone of late
Middle Ordovician and probably corresponds to the
Climacograptus geniculatus zone of Eastern Chilianshan in China and to
the
Dicranograptus clingani zone of Britain."
