'Rhabdopleura' obuti Durman and Sennikov, 1993
from the late Middle Cambrian of Siberia
Specimens of 'Rhabdopleura' obuti origin from a locality on the River Ukukit (Siberia), Zelenotsvetnaya Formation, late
Middle Cambrian.

--------Beneath you can see the reconstruction of 'Rhabdopleura' obuti by Durman and Sennikov (1993). It shows the
colony with branching zooidal tubes, bifurcating stolons, terminal bud and feeding zooids.
DIAGNOSIS by Durman and Sennikov (1993, pp. 284-285):

"Coenoecium consisting of stolonal and zooidal tubes.
Colony habitus largely erect with limited, encrusting,
proximal portion. Stolonal tubes are 0.25 - 0.75 mm wide
with irregular branchings. Sclerotized stolons common
showing bifurcation at branch nodes. Stolon thickness
between 60 and 80 micrometers. The erect zooidal tubes
are 6.6 mm long on average widening gradually to an
aperture of about 1 mm. Branching of zooidal tubes occurs
quite commonly. No thecal dimorphism or indication of
cortical bandaging. Fusellar structures found throughout
the whole colony with traces of very irregular zig-zag
sutures in the stolonal tubes. Fuseller heights vary
75-150 micrometers in stolonal tubes and 50-100
micrometers in zooidal tubes. Buds and zooids preserved
within tubarium with zooids measuring about 0.2 by 0.7
mm."
